Residents Coaching Service

How it Works

Logistics of Sessions: For the initial phase starting in September 2008, we ask residents to commit to a three month contract. This means the following:

1. A one hour initial session, preferably face to face, but can be done over the phone.
2. Each month, participate in 2 ½ hour of coaching, usually on the phone. This time will be scheduled according to your and your coach's schedule and preference.
3. Sessions are usually on the phone so it does not matter at which site you are rotating to. Coaches will work around your time availability so evening and weekend sessions will be available.
4. This service is FREE.

Once you are ready to start working with a coach, you will need to do the following:

1. Complete the registration form (see link below). Only the administrator of the service will have access to the information you provide.
2. Choose a coach: A select group of professional coaches is available for you to choose from. It is important that you take time to contact the coaches and see who would be the best person for you to work with. These coaches expect you to 'shop around' before making a decision.
3. Once you have selected a coach, contact this person and make arrangements for meeting.
4. At the end of your contract, you will be asked to complete a confidential evaluation form to help us make this service even better.
5. If you feel that the coaching sessions are not unfolding as you would like, please do the following:
   
   a)    Talk to your coach.
          They are trained to respond to this situation in a creative way.
   b)    Send an email to the Service coordinator who will contact you to see
          if another coach would be best for you.
