Residency Training Programs
The Department of Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia has approved specialty training programs in each of the following specialties:
- Cardiac Surgery
- General Surgery
- Neurosurgery
- Otolaryngology
- Pediatric Surgery
- Plastic Surgery
- Radiation Oncology and Developmental Radiotherapeutics
- Thoracic Surgery
- Vascular Surgery
Affiliated hospitals in these programs are the Vancouver Hospital and Health Sciences Centre, St. Paul's Hospital, B.C. Children's Hospital, Royal Columbian Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, the University Hospital of Northern BC, Nanaimo Regional Hospital, and the British Columbia Cancer Agency.
All surgical residents are registered as postgraduate students with the University of British Columbia and are placed on the temporary educational registry of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia until graduation.
