Dr. Aziz Ghahary -
2011 Richard Finley Senior Scholar Award
Dr Aziz Ghahary's research focuses on wound repair, artificial skin substitutes and inhibition of graft rejection. Dr. Ghahary has published 21 papers in the past year and currently holds 5 CIHR or NSERC operating grants. In addition Dr. Ghahary is a very successful mentor of both clinical and basic science trainees, with several being recognized this past year with national and international awards.

Dr. Scott Tyldesley -
2011 Hjalmar Johnson New Investigator Award
Dr. Scott Tyldesley's research focuses on cancer therapy outcomes and also on operations research. Dr. Tyldesley and his team developed a new tool called Chemo Smartbook which has rationalized scheduling of chemotherapy. For this Dr. Tyldesley was awarded an HEABC Excellence in BC Health Care Award for the top innovation in a Health Authority.
Dr. Tylesdley has also been very productive with 14 papers published in the past year and holds grants from the CIHR and Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation

Dr. Christopher Ong -
2010 Richard Finley Senior Scholar Award
Dr. Christopher Ong has research programs in both Prostate Cancer research and development of novel immunosuppressive strategies to prevent transplant graft rejection.
His work has led to the development of innovative methods for treatment of drug resistant prostate cancer, as well as to new drugs for manipulation of the immune system.

Dr. Sandra Jarvis-Selinger -
2010 Hjalmar Johnson New Investigator Award
Dr. Jarvis-Selinger is Michael Smith Foundation Scholar who directs her research and teaching to pedagogical innovations in health through the examination of learning technologies. Her key initiatives include a CIHR funded project to look at e-Health mentoring to develop health professional careers for aboriginal youth, and a CIHR Grant to develop home based tele-health help for chronic disease management.
She also recently co-developed two new courses: (i) Surgical Residents as Teachers, for the Departments of Surgery, Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery, and (ii) e-health for the UBC School of Population and Public Health.
